The Challenge

The customer is a product development company and had ~150 API's which were underperforming. Additionally, infrastructure costs for a very small customer base were too high.

The customer wanted to optimize API performance as well as infrastructure cost through effective and targeted performance testing and application tuning.

Our Approach

RefactorQ team helped the customer with setting up Performance Driven Development using best practices and tooling:

• Conducted production analysis to identify and define critical Non-Functional Requirements (NFR) and business transactions
• Analysed MongoDB performance issues and provided optimization recommendations for indexing and query structures
• Identified major architectural gaps in implementation which directly helped to optimize overall application performance
• Provided technical guidance in terms of what and how to choose specific backend technologies
• Collaborated closely with engineering teams to build a performance-first approach in daily development workflows
• Leveraged our self-service performance framework (RefactorQ product) for end-to-end performance testing
• Achieved cost savings with APM tooling by recommending and implementing infrastructure best practices
